The infrastructure our projects benefit from
Good infrastructure is like a car that runs reliably, has a full tank of petrol, pumped up tyres, a spare wheel in the boot, an immobiliser, and an alarm. It can also feel like the difference between driving a reconditioned 1976 Beetle or a 2009 Porshe 911 Turbo.
Over the years we’ve come to place a really high value on good infrastructure. By this we mean access to bandwidth on real internet backbones, hosting with reliable companies that actually give support, fast servers that can be load balanced and coupled with hardware firewalls, speed and scaling optimisation on the server itself, transactional email that arrives in Inboxes, redundant onsite and offsite backups daily, and most importantly people who understand what they’re doing at a really low sytem level. It’s all under the hood, but it makes a massive difference when done right.
Our clients benefit from the same infrastructure as ourselves, which includes:
- Dedicated server hosting with DediPower in the UK, an Enterprise SLA that gives us guaranteed technical support within 2 hours, 24/7, 365 days a year, and a Cisco ASA5505 firewall for rock solid security.
- Dedicated virtual server hosting with MediaTemple in the US. We’ve been hosting with them since 2002 and have never looked back.
- Daily onsite and offsite backups for redundancy, so data is always secure.

Consultancy

Most of the time our clients want to hire people in-house, but at the same time recognise they are either out of their depth technically, or unsure of the better course of action.

E-Commerce

We're not supply chain or retail experts, but we are agile web experts, so we partner with clients who want the benefit of an external team who's interests are aligned with theirs for the long term, leaving the client to focus on retailing.
