Thursday, July 26th, 2007

I’m the first to admit that I’ve had my head in the sand the last few months, and have received many emails asking what’s happening with Tech for Africa… So I thought that posting something public would be the best way to communicate what’s happening for everyone to see
Must say that the last […]

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

This has been an interesting week regards getting keynote speakers for the conference.
I’ve had one well known person, with a massive following, come back to me and say that he’d love to speak at the conference; another individual is going to be too expensive (I mean really, really too expensive - we’re not […]

Tech4Africa 2007: Thanks for the feedback

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

When I first started doing research on the web to get contact details for Southern African businesses & individuals involved with the web and information technology, I wasn’t convinced that there would be massive interest in another technology conference in South Africa.

Tech 4 Africa - Creating momentum

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

And so it begins….
Almost surprisingly, the feedback has been along the lines we were expecting:
people would be willing to go to JHB,
wanna know about stuff around web2.0 primarily,
want to hear international speakers, and
think the conference would benefit the African web community.
On top of that, we’re getting some good coverage on the blogosphere so far:
Update as […]

Tech 4 Africa - Technology conference

Friday, November 3rd, 2006

With the onset of an extremely cold snap of weather on the 1st November, I am longing to go back home to soak up some rays from the hot African sun during Christmas time.
Instead we will be hard at work in a cold and gloomy London, which is really not as bad as it seems. […]
