I think that LinkedIn is a great service and it is a social application that has loads of benefits for the working world. However, I experienced something today which was pretty poor…well I think it’s actually pretty funny, but for a big web application which provides a paid for premium service I think it’s a shocker!

To the crux of the matter…I updated my latest job title and to my one at Technovated and wanted to add Technovated as a company profile. But it seems that technovated.com is already associated with Open Box Software, a South African company who Gareth and some of my previous colleagues used to work for. Because our domain is associated with their profile I can actually edit The Open Box company profile…not too good if I was malicious or a previous employee with some major gripes!
Also, for some other strange reason, the social network kindo.com which a few of us built is also associated with Open Box. What?!
So, I am unable to create a new company profile for Technovated because our domain is already being “used” and the same applies to Kindo!
I think there are some seriously bad SQL joins going on somewhere…did someone say amateur hour?

Stephen,
Let me know if there is anything that I can do to help sort this oddity out. That said, I’m not unhappy at all at being associated with you guys and also what you put together with Kindo.
